Welcome to the Progressive Sound Audio YouTube channel.

My name is Darren 'Smudge' Smith and I'm an Audio Engineer based in the UK.

One of the biggest challenges I see is that we often focus on the 'how' without understanding the 'why' when it comes to Production, Mixing and Mastering. This YouTube channel is all about the 'why' where me and my compatriots show you why we do the things we do to create amazing sounding music.

On this channel you can expect advice on Mastering, Mixing, Production and Gear Recommendations that I feel will greatly benefit you on your musical journey. I will also be conducting interviews with many from the Industry to really focus on the 'why' to help inspire and drive you to create great music.

The channel is DAW agnostic however I do use Studio One and Reaper for the majority of my work.
